Eatliz is a six piece female fronted art rock band, known as Tel Aviv’s most innovative band which is known for spectacular live shows all over the world, including major festivals (Primavera sound in Spain, Exit festival in Serbia, SXSW in Austin TX and more), outstanding genre crossing music, beautiful award winning animation music videos and mesmerizing front-woman Lee Triffon being the icing on the cake.
Since forming nine years ago, Eatliz has been building a strong cult following around the world. Playing what’s been termed as “complicated pop,” Eatliz features elements ranging from pop with a Middle Eastern edge and to four on the floor guitar stomps. Lee Triffon, the band’s lead singer, has been spotted as one of the vocal acrobatics in the contemporary alternative music scene. The result is a sound that calls to mind artists like Mr. Bungle, Björk and Portishead. This variety of styles the band combines in a single song, has helped them gain fans of many genres, crossing ages and countries.
Eatliz has become known as one of the most successful and forward-thinking bands in the city’s growing indie scene. With an international following and growing buzz, the band released 3 albums and gained a reputation for eye-popping videos for songs such as “Attractive”, “Lose This Child” and “Hey” which were seen by millions in festivals all over the world and won many awards, including the prestigious Spike Lee Award at 2009’s Tribeca Film Festival in NY and was screened before “Avatar” at cinemas across the US. This brought Eatliz major attention and new fans from all over the world. Hey was seen my millions by participating in 120 worldwide festivals and won 16 awards, including the precious Spike Lee Award at the Tribeca film festival (NY). The video for Attractive had a regular spot in MTV Europe’s playlist and MTV Artist Spot.
With this support of MTV, Eatliz toured Europe and the US in 2010-11 in venues and major festivals, including the slot of opening act for major international shows in Israel as Porcupine Tree and “Zappa Plays Zappa”.
In March 2011 the band made a debut in the US and Canada, armed with a new exciting album release “Teasing Nature” and shows at SXSW and Canadian Music Week showcase festivals.
The brilliant new video creation for their single Lose This Child is from the exciting new album Teasing Nature which releases in North America this summer. It was directed by Yuval and Merav Nathan, who are known for their eye-popping stop motion animation Grammy nominated “Her Morning Elegance“. “Lose This Child”, is already creating an international buzz and marks the second collaboration between eatliz and the Nathans. The first was “Attractive“.
