“Berlin”, three minutes sugar rush of luxuriant and edgy guitars, is the new single from Israeli Art rockers Eatliz, taken from “Teasing Nature”, the much anticipated third studio album of the band. The album will be released on December 2010 by Anova Music. Download Berlin for free here.
Hailing from Tel Aviv underground scene, Eatliz is one of the most intriguing and challenging bands that have managed to break through in Europe by gaining a loyal fan base, touring Israel and Europe and participating in influential European music festivals and supporting Porcupine Tree and ‘Zappa Plays Zappa’.
The inspiration for the song is Tel Aviv night life and it is a critique point of view of the nocturnal urban experience through a screen of alcohol. It is a dive into a dazzling pool of urban glitter that ends with sobering up and getting back to the lucid reality. In this state of intoxication, Tel Aviv glows and shines as if it was Berlin.
The cover for the single is a collaboration between Tel Aviv and Berlin, it combines works of two artists; the first is the Tel Aviv Grammy nominated director and animator, Yuval Natan (that sculptured the bands logo in sand), the second artists is the Berliner animation artist, Volker Shlecht, that contributed a drawing from his award winning short film “Germania Wurst”, which shows the German history from the Roman empire up till today.
“Berlin”, same as the upcoming album, pulls Eatliz out of their comfort zone and finds the band after a self reflecting process. This emotional new album is experimental in regards of the band’s perspective mainly because it has no Metal elements (that have been very dominant in the past albums), this has opened the way for the band to use in their music keyboards and electronics.
The outcome of this is a very focused and clear album in comparison to the bands past albums – all the heterogenic elements flow into a common denominator. Still you can find in their music a broad range of genres and adventurous vibe. After all these years this ensemble has ripened and has developed an impressive unification that is heard in this album. Watch Berlin Live

“Brilliant local band Eatliz are about to release their 3rd album and are having a one off show where they will be performing classical music versions of their songs (usually hard alternative rock, sung in English. Female vocals) including songs from their upcoming album, Teasing Nature.
Joining the band members on stage will be three cellists and a pianist. Sounds like an interesting combination regardless of whether or not you’ve ever seen this band play or even heard their music. Definitely check it out if you’re in town”.
